Hi everybody. I'm here because I wasted a fiver on http://www.schoolappeals.org.uk only to find the forum dead! I've just constructed an appeals letter for my daughter and had it described a "well contructed and convincing" by her Head. I'd be happy to send out a writing frame with top tips for free or even post it to the forum, with the moderator's permission. Our appeal hasn't been heard yet and there are no guarantees but I'm an English Teacher with 18 years' experience at all levels except Head and believe I have a reasonable grasp of the issues and techniques that convince.

Thanks scargman thats very helpful of you, please feel free to post any tips you have on the site, I am sure many people will be looking for help with appeals at the moment. we have just sent our Appeal letter off as our daughter did not get in to her chosen school and i hope we have enough good reasons on our letter but its not easy, this is all much more stressful than I had imagined it would be. So thanks again for your offer of help I am sure it will be appreciated by lots of parents on here.

I'm happy to respond to individual requests for help including proof-reading letters and help with wording etc. Obviously I cannot guarantee success but I have absorbed an enormous amount of knowledge recently both as a front-line parent of a disappointed child and as a School Leader etc. I'm also determined that no-one else should blow a fiver on the "other" site when everything one can get from that is simply available free to those prepared to ask.

Thanks again for your very kind offer, you are right the info is all out there to find if you look. That other site offered nothing at all for £5.00 that you could not get elsewhere, I think it was mainly a site for selling the man's book from what I could see.

Oh so sorry to hear that Alison, what a nightmare, we have not had our appeal yet and really dont know what way it will go, I guess moving is one way to go but its a big decision. Where are you on the waiting list, is this still a possibility???
